Live Review: Taking Back Sunday - 17th February 2017

Taking Back Sunday are one of those bands that I've loved for many years, but kind of never got round to seeing them, be it for my parents saying no when I was young enough to need permission, or my bank balance saying no when I was old enough to have bills and responsibilities. So heck, why not take some time off work for a drive over to Nottingham on a Friday, mid-February?

Live Review: Funeral For A Friend - 13th April 2016, Birmingham

The first time I saw Funeral For A Friend live was at Taste of Chaos in 2005. When they played History, everyone in the arena held out their mobile phones to light up the venue. The Llanelli Male Choir joined them on stage. It was a performance I'll never forget.

Slam Dunk first announcement!

In 2016, Slam Dunk will be celebrating its 10th anniversary, and it's guaranteed to be a good one.

Panic! at the Disco have been announced as the first headliners, and they've just celebrated an anniversary, too - 10 years since the release of 'A Fever You Can't Sweat Out'. With their new album, 'Death of a Bachelor' due out on 15th January, their set will be one to watch. Front man Brendan Urie says "It’s awesome, it’s fucking cool, and I’m very excited. We haven’t actually played it before, but we have friends who have, and have heard it’s awesome! And sure, there’s a little bit of pressure, I’m not gonna lie!"

Alexisonfire are back!

But you already knew that - you've probably been checking social media as frantically as we have.

They hinted at an announcement on Friday on Instagram and Facebook, and it's here. Despite closing the door on Alexisonfire back in December 2012, they'll be playing the festivals below...

We know we'll be doing everything we can to catch them, but our fingers are still crossed for a tour!

Live Review: NATIVES - March 22nd 2014

The night is kicked off pretty promptly by Fans of Faye, a five-piece from Birmingham. Despite being a small, local band with under 1000 followers on Twitter, they sound polished - they don't miss a beat or hit a bad note. They definitely know what they're doing, and they're having fun doing it. Fans of Faye are one to watch.

Album Review: NATIVES - Indoor War

I don't know about you, but I love hearing an album that makes me want to dance. 'Indoor War' is one of those albums. I was dancing so hard, in fact, that I could barely write this review.

War Inside of Me is a great opener for the record, and really sets the scene for the story that the album tells (about a character called Alvima who, after suffering a huge loss, decides to live his life making decisions based upon logic and science rather than emotions). It's short, powerful, and serves as a good kick for the next tracks.
