MPM meets... Darkest Hour - December 16th 2006

Darkest Hour have recently completed a UK tour, supported by Between The Buried And Me and Misery Signals. As a band well known in their genre, the Moshpit team couldn't help but delve into their lives a little, so we pulled up a stool and drank a few beers with bass player, Paul Burnette.

MPM meets... Hit The Lights - December 3rd 2006

Hit The Lights formed in 2003 from the ashes of Goodbye Session, naming themselves after a Metallica song. The date is December 3rd 2006, and the Ohioan boys leave the stage after performing as support for New Found Glory. Half an hour later, Moshpit Magazine heads up to their dressing room for an interview, but the sight is not what you expect to see Jordan Pundik, frontman for the night's headlining band, New Found Glory, stands in the centre of the room, ranting about whatever. A plastic cup then flies from his hand and into a table, where it smashes impressively into pieces.
"The interviewer's here," says HTL's tour manager, Evan. The room falls silent as the guys from Hit The Lights, along with Jordan, turn around to face the doorway, innocent smirks plastered across their faces.  "We were just talking about how funny it'd be to scare the shit out of the interviewer before the interview even started," Nate smiles.

MPM meets... Enter Shikari - October 29th 2006

Enter Shikari are Rou (Vocals / Electronics), Rob (Drums), Rory (Guitar) and Chris (Bass / Vocals). They're a band that have been snapped up by current trends with their catchy electro-hardcore, even though they're all only just 20 years old. We caught up with Rou, Rory and Chris on tour in Birmingham.

MPM meets... Silva:Code - October 14th 2006

Silva:Code are Adam (vocals), Mike (drums), Si (guitar) and Andrew (bass). Formed in 2004, the band are entirely different from any other you'll find. Although they're only playing small venues, they've got a big music style. We talked to them after a gig at Edwards No8 in Birmingham to find out more.

MPM meets... Cute Is What We Aim For - October 10th 2006

Cute Is What We Aim For are Shaant (Vocals), Tom (Drums), Jeff (Guitar) and Fred (Bass). They have recently been rocketed into our lives by the Floridian record label that brought us Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco, Fueled By Ramen, even though they formed not even two years ago. I caught up with Shaant on tour with Paramore in Birmingham to see how he is.

MPM meets... Brigade - August 21st 2006

Brigade are Will (Vocals / Guitar), Fim (Drums), James (Guitar / Vocals) and Naoto (Bass). To most people, the band is known simply because of the family ties between frontman Will and Fightstar vocalist Charlie Simpson. They say "It's not emo, it's not indie, it's not pop. Brigade cannot be limited to genre pigeonholes". I met up with them before their gig at the Birmingham Bar Academy to find out more.
