Live Review: NATIVES - March 22nd 2014

The night is kicked off pretty promptly by Fans of Faye, a five-piece from Birmingham. Despite being a small, local band with under 1000 followers on Twitter, they sound polished - they don't miss a beat or hit a bad note. They definitely know what they're doing, and they're having fun doing it. Fans of Faye are one to watch.

Album Review: NATIVES - Indoor War

I don't know about you, but I love hearing an album that makes me want to dance. 'Indoor War' is one of those albums. I was dancing so hard, in fact, that I could barely write this review.

War Inside of Me is a great opener for the record, and really sets the scene for the story that the album tells (about a character called Alvima who, after suffering a huge loss, decides to live his life making decisions based upon logic and science rather than emotions). It's short, powerful, and serves as a good kick for the next tracks.

News: LostAlone announce new single, 'Scarlet Letter Rhymes'

Scarlet Letter Rhymes, from upcoming album 'Shapes of Screams', will be released on April 7th. The album, produced by Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, Young Guns), will be released on the same date via Graphite Records.

Front man Steven Battelle explains, "I wrote Scarlet Letter Rhymes whilst submerged under water in a hotel swimming pool in Finland. I fleshed it out in a dream where I was the captain of a flying pirate ship caught in some turbulence and crashed into another time. When I awoke I found lying next me a book first published in 1850 called the Scarlet Letter. The video has absolutely nothing to do with any of this other than its chaotic interpretation of the riffonomics within."

The band will be performing a UK tour throughout April with support from Verses and The First, dates after the jump!

News: More bands added to Slam Dunk 2014 line up

Following the previous announcement that this year's festival will be headlined by platinum record sellers The All-American Rejects, there's been some juicy bands added to the line up.

Rock Sound cover stars, We Are The In Crowd, will be flying into the country exclusively for Slam Dunk, and they're set to be one of the favourites of the weekend.

Kings of ska, Less Than Jake, will join Goldfinger and Zebrahead. They previously headlined the festival alongside Reel Big Fish back in 2011, but will be making a special appearance this year.

US pop punk favourites Motion City Soundtrack and Hit The Lights will also be joining the line up after a year's absence.

State Champs will be making their UK festival debut at Slam Dunk, while Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! and A Loss For Words will be returning. UK group Marmozets will also be playing in support of their forthcoming debut album.
